I'd particulally like to see some sitcoms and variety shows, although anything would be cool. Too bad only 8% or so of british telecasts from the 50's still exist.

Yes it is a shame. Invisible man survived because it was shot on film. While everyone with an interest is searching the globe for fragments of missing Dr Who episodes, no-one seems interested in locating anything else.

I have some black-and-white Coronation Street on 16mm which is great to watch. Not PD, though!

Talking of which, I do have lots of old British 16mm reels, that I've never even run. I know some of it is news footage (Elizabeth II's coronation etc) but there may be some gems in there. I'll try to project them this weekend and if there's anything of interest I'll telecine it there and then. Fingers crossed...

Well, if you got the first season of The Invisible Man, bring it on!

Erm... I'm getting cold feet about that. I checked again and the 'copyright 1957' at the end of each episode is clearly an added-on video title, on the film print, it moves quickly and is very dark but it does appear to sy 1958 (in roman numerals).

So I should probably wait till January before upoading them, unless someone here says otherwise - then, when the police come bashing down my door I'll use the excuse "some bloke on the internet said it'd be fine, guv" and I'm sure I'll be OK!
